  1. Kitchen work can break nails like nothing else can. Always use rubber gloves when you scrub and scour at kitchen utensils - especially if you are using a scrubber that has metal wires.
  2. You can't file your nails just about anyway. Filing them the wrong way can make your nails brittle and damage them for months to come.
  3. Never file your nails to a sharp point. The nail has no protection then and will end up breaking sooner than later.
  4. The top of your nail has to be filed to complement the base. If the base is square, file the top square too. If the base is round, the top should be round too.
  5. Don't ever over file your nails. Do the minimum filing necessary to give your nails the right shape.
  6. Creaming your nails is vital for their well being. The more they are oiled and creamed, the more beautiful the will be. Creaming helps improve your nail texture.
  7. Before you give yourself a manicure, dip your nails in warm oil for about ten minutes.
  8. Never apply new nail polish on old polish. You will weaken the nail by doing it.
  9. Consume adequate calcium products. They will give you health bones and nails.
  10. To harden soft nails, soak them in warm olive oil for about 20 minutes, on alternate days
  11. To remove stains from your nails, mix one tablespoon of lemon juice in a cup of water and soak your nails in this liquid for a few minutes. Then, wash off with warm water and apply a hand moisturizer.
  12. To stay away from acetone polish removers as much as you can and stick to the one that make use of acetate. Still, try not to use a polish remover more than once a week.
  13. In case you wear nail polish, make sure to give your nails a break from time to time. In other words leave them without polish for a few days, every now and then. Otherwise, they will develop an ugly, yellow tint.
  14. If you want to give a natural sheen to your nails, just like the colorless base coat, rub petroleum jelly on your nails and then buff them, with the help of a soft cloth.
  15. If you have brittle nails or split or dull nails, then increasing your consumption of Organic Silica, Vitamin B (especially B5) and MSM (Methyl-Sulfonyl-Methane) will surely help.
  16. Never ever resort to nail biting, as it is extremely destructive for the nails as well as the cuticles. If you are in the habit of biting your nails, drop it as soon as possible.
  17. Whenever you wash your hands, while bathing as well as otherwise, make sure to dry the nails properly and apply a hand cream or lotion, using it on the nails as well. This is because soap makes the nails dry and brittle.
  18. The best time to file your nails is when you are already wearing a polish. This will prevent splitting or breaking of nails.
  19. If you have brittle nails, it is advisable to wear a nail polish, or at least the colorless base coat, as much as you can.
